Surf Locations

Padang Padang, a wave so good they named it twice

Padang Padang consists of two distinct surf spots:

The main peak and the inside break at Padang Padang called Baby Padang or Padang right.

The two waves couldn’t be more different:

Padang left is a hard core, world class, left hand barreling wave.

Baby Padang is a mellow left and right break, ideal for beginners and intermediate surfers.

Through the Cave

Uluwatu is a wide reef set below a stunning cliff face, offering different peaks that turn on at various tides. All of the surf breaks run left, down the reef with variations in sections that change with the size of the swell.

The cliffs above and the beach below are always bustling with energy and makes for a spectacular viewing platform.

Ripz Surf School delivers an unforgettable surf experience here for intermediate and advanced surfers.

Pinch yourself

Dreamland is a beautiful stretch of beach on the Bukit peninsula with some of the best waves around.

The variety of breaks including an A frame offering left and rights as well as some fun beach breaks. This all adds up to a surf that is one of a kind for all levels and abilities. One of our favourites!

Tucked away

Once upon a time. The Bingin surf break, situated at the bottom of a cliff was a best kept secret.

But due to the quality and consistency of the perfect left-hand barrel the wave produces, word spread far and wide,  so this beautiful wave now brings in some of the best talent around.

We know the best time for any level to surf this world class wave.

Taxi boat

There’s little in life that can drown out the sound of a roaring wave as it scrapes over the top of a shallow barrier reef.

Except for of course the sound of a 747. Imagine sitting in the lineup, about a kilometre from shore as a roaring Jet zips 100 metres above your head and you’re surfing Torro Torro and Airport Reefs.

This is a one of a kind surf experience.

There's no sunrise quite like it and the waves are good too.

Slice of paradise

Balangan has been preserved and remains one of the untouched left-handers along the Bukit. On smaller swells with an outgoing tide, you can count on steep, peaky, left-handers. Typically Balangan will hold a wall for a short ride before some sections close out. Giving plenty of opportunity  for all abilities to ride the same wave. Under perfect conditions, it has been known to connect the whole length of the reef(over 300 meters).

Work those legs

A fun righthand wave that’s usually fast and steep making it great for powerful top to bottom surfing. Take off down the line and get some speed before opening up for a two to three turn section. When it’s good this top section turns into a long barrel section that starts almost immediately after the take off. We get excited taking students to Green Bowl because it offers rides like nowhere else.

Rainy Season Surf

Dry season is generally still all about the Bukit, however during rainy season early mornings are always best on the East Coast.

Whilst there’s very few secret lefts on the magic isle, you can still score some magic moments minus the crowds if you know where and when to show up...luckily we do!
